Serendipitous

I know y'all are probably sick to death of hearing about our nursery -- I'm far from finished with it, though, so bear with me.  It really seems like everything is just falling into place with this room -- from the green sofa we had that fit perfectly in front of the window to the acrylic hardware I found long ago that works great on our yellow dresser to the paint color that we had left over from our old dining room.  Well, two more things have fallen into place recently that have just tickled me pink.

Back when I originally posted my plans for the nursery, someone pointed out that I didn't have a changing table and that I would likely need one with two babies in diapers.  Well, I had planned to stick a changing table in our closet so that it wouldn't take up valuable floor space in the room, but I just hadn't found the right piece of furniture.  Then one day while poking around at my parents' house I came across an old dresser I had purchased at a barn auction and then painted back in ninth grade.  My mom offered it to me -- if I thought I could use it!  Well, mom, not only can I use it, but it's perfect!  Ninth grade paint color choices and all!

I even painted the knobs yellow way back in 2000!

More recently, my mom was digging through her basement again and found two matching vintage christening gowns she had purchased long ago for $1 each!

I love the detail in the fabric!

What are the odds of finding two matching vintage gowns?  And for such a great price???  And who in their right mind would buy them and keep them for so long without a foreseeable need for them?  My mom -- that's who!

Serendipity or just way too much junk???  It's probably a little of both, but either way, I love when things work out just right!  Thanks, mom!
