We received our referral Friday evening. Almost too amazing to be real. Since then we've shared the news with family, friends, and facebook at large, celebrated, starting nesting.......it's been a good time. With this news, we're entering into a new phase in our lives. We're parents. We have children. Things are going to be different now.
I thought it was only appropriate that I make the move to a new site, one that will still be filled with crazy projects I think up, decor, and other pretty things, but one that also celebrates this phase in my life and all that God has done and will do in the lives of my children. I hope y'all will stick with me.
As for the referral and our precious babies: we have one boy and one girl (the agency was wrong!). They're both about 2 months old, and have gorgeous dark eyes and hair and couldn't be more beautiful. And we couldn't be more in love. Due to privacy concerns, we're not allowed to post photos or other information until our court date when they legally become ours, but just imagine the most beautiful babies in the world, and you're pretty darn close :)
I'm working on finishing up some art work for the nursery, and it just seems right to have a print with the first line of the doxology - "Praise God from whom all blessings flow".

Oh such joy...this is one Christmas you will never forget. I love the new site for Gus and Lula and the beautiful rendering of the opening of the Doxology. These two were chosen for you to raise and love and cherish from before the foundation of the world, and they are two little ones (now) who have a calling and a destiny all their own...bestowed upon them by the very One who knit them together in their mother's womb but who now knits them into your heart and your life...forever! I saw the post about you guys on the CSI Project and had to see this person who creates insane designs with Sharpies... Then I was sidetracked by the heart of Africa button and then the adoption stories. It is the strong desire of my heart to go to Africa and love on those precious children. May God bless you with easy transitions for the babies and you two and that they grow up as healthy, happy, and well-adjusted young men! Oh, and I'm following your blog now because I can't wait to see these two beauties....AND I love the gutter shelves:)
