I am blown away by all the love and support from my readers. Y'all are the sweetest. I got so many encouraging, uplifting comments and emails this past week, complete with name suggestions, advice for parenting boys, and a couple notes from other adoptive parents. Thank you!!!
I think we've decided that our second little guy will be "Sam" (short for his middle name Samuel), though we're still working on the first name. Gus and Sam.
And as for the chandelier problem, I just won this beauty on ebay Sunday:
I was the only bidder, perhaps because it doesn't have any wiring or sockets? Keith assures me that we can do that easily enough, though. It will also get a coat of spray paint. Green or yellow?......hmmmm.......
I also figured since I was much too busy trying to get all our adoption paperwork done last year that I'd go ahead and document this year's Christmas decor. We did scale things back a little since we won't be hosting any gatherings for Christmas, but it's enough to put us in the spirit!
I'm not sure how frequently I'll be posting between now and the New Year, so if I don't get a chance to say it later, Merry Christmas! Hope y'all have a blessed time with friends and family!

We get a "real" tree every year. If you live in the south, I'd highly recommend Pike's "reject" trees. We always get a 9 or 10 foot Fir that looks pretty darn good for $30 (at least we think so).
I normally buy all our Christmas ornaments and decorations after Christmas each year so I get them on sale, but this year I got a few of these ahead of time:
WalMart has them for $1 each, in several different shapes and colors. I'll be back for more after Christmas!
I think this is my favorite holiday decoration:
My family lived in Germany for six years when I was growing up, and this brings back great memories of our time there. It is also our only nativity-like decoration, though I'm hoping for one for Christmas this year.

I love the nativity!! I just saw one of those at a nativity display from different countries and thought it was so cool! And of course everything else looks wonderful!
love all the blues and greens mixed with the silver- very pretty. And 'Sam' is an excellent name- one of my boys has Samuel as a middle name (after my dad). It's kinda funny 'cause at Silverton Bank, at least 3 women in IT had boys with first or middle names of Samuel. It is nice that such a good, strong (and biblical) name has had such a resurgence of popularity :)
I love the new chandelier! What did you search for on ebay to find such a great lamp? I love that style.
I have a nativity like that, too! I also lived in Germany.. and near Atlanta! Soon I'll find out you live next door... :)
What a lovely dinning room! What a lovely tree! Gosh...lovely everything!
Congrats on two little boys on the way! Boys are SO crazy & SO much fun!

Cool chandelier! I actually really like the lighter green that's in the pic of the one in your previous post. Would that work in your room?
Thanks everyone! I like the light green too, Brooke.
Amelia - I searched for "bamboo chandelier" or "pagoda chandelier". Good luck!
What a happy time for you~ bliss. Your blue and green decor seems very ready for boys. I still 9 years later wonder what to do with my son. Love him to pieces mostly.
Stop by my blog as I decided not to decorate and am still quite joyous.
Your Christmas decorations are beautiful! I always love seeing pictures of your house, it's gorgeous!
Congrats on the pre-referral! Wow, two little boys....they will be peas in a pod and have Mommy wrapped around their little fingers. :)
Great idea on the new lighting! Your Christmas decorating is beautiful!!
Thought I'd share two neat Ethiopia adoption links in case you don't already have these....

Wonderful news about your referral! Blessings for a JOY-FULL year!
aprtron - I bought the mirror a few years ago at JCPenney outlet in St. Louis. I think it was $30. I don't know where you would be able to find one reasonably -- except maybe craigslist. Good luck!!
HI! I saw this photo on Pinterest and I love your dining room table and side table.. do you mind if I ask where you bought it? Thanks!
@girlonparkThe dining table was a craigslist find. The side table was put together from an old bed. (You can read about it here: http://www.gusandlula.com/2009/11/lovely-legs.html
Hope this helps!
