I've gotten lots of questions about the gutter shelves, so I thought I'd go ahead and try to answer them all in a post. Please let me know if I missed your question!
*The installation process was super easy and fast. We basically did what RaisingOlives did here, with one small exception. We used drywall anchors and screws to attach the end caps to the gutters and to the wall for a little more stability. The shelves kinda sagged on the ends before we did this step.
*You can find pictures of the end caps and brackets here-- very helpful as there are a few different types of brackets available.
*For those of you who were concerned about sharp edges, the PVC gutters don't really have any. When you cut the gutter to length, you do end up with sharp ends, but those are covered by the end caps.
*I feel like the shelves are very sturdy. We made sure to drill the brackets into studs and used drywall anchors on the ends. I don't know exactly how much weight they will support, but they're definitely strong enough to handle little ones pulling up on them.
*And a few of you have asked about the nursery wall color. It is Sparkling Lake by Valspar.
And on a completely unrelated note, the shop has been stocked. I'll hopefully be adding more in a week or two, but the doxology prints that some of you asked about are in now!

An updated, daytime pic with the bunting in its new home.

Love this idea, had to share it on my blog!
Love this idea...thinking this would be a great addition to our little ones rooms. We also adopted from Ethiopia, b/g twins. They will be 3 at the end of this month and we have been home 2 years in August. Congratulations on your family!! Your designs are awesome!
That is brilliant! Who would've thought that a gutter can serve as shelves. Can you share more of your different home ideas. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this! I've been thinking of a way to recycle our gutter when we had our basement remodeled. I just thought it's such a waste to throw them away. Now they have a purpose!
